0308 REPRESENTING SPORT - FORMS AND ISSUES
We were recently lucky enough to work with Murdo Mcleod's iconic portrait of Roy Keane, above. The image was licensed for use on a poster, designed by A&D, for an international conference hosted by the Huston School of Film and Digital Media, with the support of the IRCHSS and Dept. of French, NUI,G.

0308 AQUA FACT - SEDIMENT PROFILE IMAGERY
SPI or Sediment Profile Imagery, is an innovative and cost efficient method of surveying aquatic environments with a view to establishing the environmental status of these habitats or as part of a site suitability study. Galway company Aqua Fact International is the only company offering SPI technology on a commercial basis in Europe. We have just updated the graphic design of information leaflets on the service, before updating the design of all of Aqua Fact's corporate literature.

0308 GALWAY CITY MUSEUM EVENTS GUIDE
Galway City Museum's events programme is going from strength to strength, with the new events guide for Summer 2008 running to twenty pages. A&D designed the guide, which includes details of the museum's forthcoming exhibition on President John F. Kennedy's visit to Galway in 1963.

0208 THE SAW DOCTORS - BACK ON THE ROAD IN THE USA
We've been doing some advertising and design work with recent Meteor award winners The Saw Doctors. The band, who claimed the Lifetime Achievement gong at the awards, are currently touring the USA. We designed some new tour merchandise, and a U.S. press ad promoting their recently released album "That Takes the Biscuit.

A&D just completed the design of a prospectus for the Galway Gateway Bid Proposal. The proposal centres on three capital projects: Fisheries Field concert and conference venue, development of a bus carriageway and urban avenue, and the development of double rail tracking from Galway to Athenry.

0208 INNOVATION, MOTIVATION, ACTION, GALWAY
We've been doing some graphic design work to promote Galway City Development Board's forthcoming presentation of a talk on urban innovation and future development by Charles Landry. Landry is an authority on creativity and its uses and how city futures are shaped by paying attention to the culture of a place. His recent book "The Art of City Making" (Sept. 2006), now in its third edition, has been highly acclaimed. It focuses on how cities can be more "creative for the world" so that the energies of individuals and companies can be brought into alignment with their global responsibilities. This builds on his original ideas in The Creative City: A Toolkit for urban innovators, which has now been reprinted 10 times. Together with co-author Phil Wood he has just published The Intercultural City (2007). He will be speaking at an invitation only event in Galway's Town Hall Theatre on March 3rd. We say: bring it on!

0108 IRISH FILM BOARD - ANNUAL REPORT
The Irish Film Board / Bord Scannán na hÉireann have just published their most recent Annual Report. The agency, Ireland's national film body, supports and promotes the Irish film industry and the use of Ireland as a location for international production. The 68 page report, designed by A&D, contains financial statements and details of film funding for the year. We just completed the graphic design of a poster and programme for the Galway-based award winning Irish language theatre company Fíbín. 0108 HELVETICA DOCUMENTARY
We organised a screening of Gary Hustwit's documentary film on the Helvetica typeface in Nun's Island Arts Centre. The feature-length film, which includes interviews with the world's leading type designers and commentators, has been an international success since its premiere in March 2007, and the Galway screening was no different - thanks to all the people that came along to the sold-out show.

Medtronic is the global leader in medical technology, providing medical professionals with products and therapies to help improve the lives of nearly 6 million patients worldwide every year. Medtronic’s site in Galway is a Global Manufacturing and Technology Development Centre of Excellence for its CardioVascular and Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management businesses. We prepared and placed their recent recruitment adverts "Engineering Excellence" in regional press. In 2006 A&D were the only advertising agency outside of Dublin and the UK to win an ERA Award for Excellence in Recruitment Advertising, for our work with Medtronic.
